Tower and Cancer
Tower consists of electronic equipment and antennas that receives and transmits radiofrequency (RF) signals. Every telephone network needs a specific structure to route incoming calls to the correct exchange and then on to the subscriber, as we know that the mobile is connected to networks through these towers which are called as cell and we have four Geographical network structure:
 Cell
 Location Area
 MSC Service Area
 PLMN Service Area
• Cell is defined as the area of radio coverage.

• A Location Area (LA) is defined as a group of cells within the network, a subscriber’s location is known by the LA which they are in.
• Msc service area is collection of location area it represents the geographical part of the network

• Plmn is the area in which an operator offers radio coverage and access to its network.
• The GSM service area is the entire geographical area in which a subscriber can gain access to a GSM network. The GSM service area increases as more operators sign contracts agreeing to work together.
Actually; people are using cell-phones to make calls, this is done through sending signals and transmitted back and forth to the base station, it means from the tower that have the cell, The energy from a cellular phone tower antenna, like that of other telecommunication antennas, is directed toward the horizon. Base station antennas use higher power levels than other type, but on the other hand; its levels are much lower than those from radio and television broadcast stations.
the energy level of radiofrequency (RF) waves is relatively low, especially when compared with the types of radiation that are known to increase Cancer Risks, such as Gamma Rays, X-Rays, and Ultraviolet (UV) Light. The energy of RF Waves given off by cell phone towers is not enough to break chemical bonds in the DNA molecules, which is how these stronger forms of radiation may lead to cancer. A recent study by British researchers at Imperial College London’s School of Public Health has found that; despite widespread concerns over the safety of cell phones, children born to mothers who lived near cell phone towers while pregnant do not have an elevated risk of cancer.
The team examined nearly 2000 cases of childhood cancer in Britain between 1999 and 2001, and found out that there was no correlation between how close their mother lived to cell phone towers and the incidences of cancer.
A second issue has to do with wavelength. RF waves have long wavelengths, which can only be concentrated to about an inch or two in size. This makes it unlikely that the energy from RF waves could be concentrated enough to affect individual cells in the body.
This is for the people in Kurdistan is scurried from the tower cell and their effect on the health, as we have in Kurdistan many people use cell phones and they need many towers to coverage all these people because along with the increase of mobile users more towers will be needed. Accordingly; we can make this conclusion; Cell Towers are not known to be causing any health effects or any cancer.
