The Municipal Council of Khanaqin district of Diyala province refused Iraqi Prime minister Nouri Al Maliki decision to prevent raising Kurdistan flag in the disputed areas of Diyala province.

The refusal came in an extraordinary meeting of the Municipal Council of Khanaqin district which was held on Wednesday.

Samir Muhamad, head of The Municipal Council of Khanaqin district, said in a press conference that the council decided to raise Kurdistan flag next to Iraqi flag on all government directorates in Khanaqin district.
