The politburos of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Kurdistan Democratic Kurdistan (KDP) convened on Wednesday in Dukan resort of Sulaimani province.

The meeting was chaired by PUK secretary general, Jalal Talabani, and KDP president Massoud Barzani.

After the meeting, the politburos of PUK and KDP issued a statement, a copy of which was received by PUKmedia.

In discussing political situation in iraq, the two parties expressed their concerns over political instability in Iraq, expressing their commitment with iraqi constitution to address outstanding issues between Kurdistan region and Baghdad.

In discussing Kurdistan region situation, they stressed on keeping and progressing political process in Kurdistan region, reaffirming the importance of continuing reform process.

They decided to form three committees to discuss political developments in Kurdistan and in the region, joint media and a committee for supervising cadres in organization centers and branches of PUK and KDP.
