Iraq presented official invitations to kings and heads of Arab countries to attend the Arab summit in its (23) session to be held in Baghdad for the period from 27- 29 March.

Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari presented on 27/02/2012 to Sheikh Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister of Oman an invitation of His Excellency President Jalal Talabani to, Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sultan of Oman, and presented on 28/2/2012 to the Amir of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah from the President of the Republic of Iraq to attend the Arab summit, Minister Zebari also presented on 01/03/2012 an invitation of His Excellency the president to His Majesty the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to attend the Arab summit.

The envoy of the President, Mr. Safa Al- Safi State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs also presented a letter of invitation to Major General Sami Annan deputy head of the military in the Arab Republic of Egypt on 26/2/2012 and a similar letter to the President of the Republic of Sudan Mr. Omar al-Bashir on 27.02.2012, and a letter to the President of the Libyan Transitional Council Mr. Omar Alnakou to attend the Arab summit.

The envoy of the President, Minister of Culture Mr. Sadoun Al-Dulaimi, handed an invitation to attend the Arab summit in Baghdad to the Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Aal-Faisal on 26/02/2012 addressed to His Majesty King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and a similar invitation to the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on 27/02/2012 received by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and on 29/2 handed a similar invitation to His Highness Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Emir of Qatar to attend Arab summit in Baghdad.

Mr. Ali Al-Adeeb, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research presented on 27.02.2012 an official invitation from President Talabani to the Moroccan King , His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco received by Moroccan Foreign Minister Saif Aldin Ottoman, and a similar invitation on 28/2/2012 to His Excellency Mohammed Abdaziz and President of the Republic of Mauritania to attend the Arab summit, and an official invitation from His Excellency the President of the Republic on 29/2/2012 to the President of the Republic of Tunisia Al- Moncef Marzouki. In addition to the official invitation of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to attend the Arab summit.

The envoy of His Excellency President Jalal Talabani Mr. Ahmad Karbouli Minister of Industry and Minerals, presented an invitation to Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi on 2/26/2012 and to the President of the Republic of Djibouti, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh on 27/2 / 2012 to attend the Arab summit, as well as invitation to the President of the of the Islamic Republic of Comoros Dr. Iklel Dhanin on 02.29.2012 to attend the Arab summit in Baghdad.

The envoy of the President of the Republic, Mr. Ali Shukri , Minister of Planning and Development Cooperation delivered an official invitation to attend the Arab summit to Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, and a similar letter on 02.26.2012 to His Majesty King Abdullah Bin Al Hussein, King of the Kingdom of Jordan , and on 2/27/2012 an invitation to the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the Jordanian capital Amman to attend the Arab summit, which will hopefully be held in Baghdad later this month.
