A police officer was killed and three other officers injured in a roadside bombing near Fallujah city, in Anbar.

A security source told AKnews that an improvised explosive device was placed on a roadside in Humra, in Karama, about 25 km to the east of Fallujah city.

The bomb was detonated when a police convoy carrying a first lieutenant and three other policemen passed by.

“The injuries of the other three policemen wounded in the attack are serious,” said the source.

“According to our investigations, the bomb was a locally made one that had been filled with a large amount of highly explosive phosphors.”
