PKK and PAJK prisoners end hunger strike
Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Kurdistan Women’s Liberation Party (PAJK) prisoners who have been on an indefinite hunger strike without turns in order to protest the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan declared today that they decided to temporarily end the action.

In a statement on behalf of the prisoners Deniz Kaya has stated, “We are ending our hunger strike temporarily due to the public sensitivity in Kurdistan, Turkey and Europe and our leader’s plea for prevention of deaths as well as the call of members of our movement.”

It has been emphasized in the statement that the prisoners will insist on speaking in their mother tongue Kurdish in all official procedures.
