Jalal Talabani issued Saturday a statement to the Iraqi people on the country’s political situation.

He states that the country’s political status has faced difficulties and obstacles and that it threatens to paralyze economy sector and the state’s institutions which impedes developments and public services the Iraqi people have the right to acquire.

“As I agreed to take office, I pledged to be neutral and trustworthy in the hope of being supported by all parliament factions that represent the Iraqi nation.” President said.

“As I am eager to settle the matters for the sake of the public interests, I called for a national meeting through which the political parties could expose what problems they have and then reach the possible solutions,” he stated.

He finalizes his statement, saying “Ladies and Gentlemen, I am sure this dangerous situation needs to organize a constructive discussion table, if we fail I believe it would even aggravate the situation. So, I call on my counterparts and those who elected by our nation to embrace my invitation.”
