It’s parliament's duty to watch government, says Taifur
The second deputy of the Iraqi parliament speaker Arf Taifur said its parliament's duty to monitor government's performance and its attempt in implementing the constitution for correcting the political process in the country.
Taifur met with deputy US ambassador to Iraq Harris Joshua in his office in Baghdad, according to a statement from the House of Representatives.

In the meeting, Taifur and Joshua talked about latest the political developments in Iraq, especially the current crisis.

Both sides agreed that the current political situation will affect negatively the performance of the House of Representatives and will impede its work in forming legislation that serves the citizens.

Joshua expressed the US’ sympathy and support for ending the crisis in Iraq to restore security and stability in the country.
