Vatican Pope praises religious co-existence in Kurdistan
Pope Benedict XVI commended Sunday in a meeting with KRG Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Vatican the experience of religious co-existence in Kurdistan region, hoping that the region could get benefit from the region’s model and experience.

Pope Benedict valued the experience of religious co-existence in Kurdistan region, expressing his happiness that the Christians live in peace with the other beliefs there. He also hoped that the region could duplicate the experience existing in Kurdistan region.

At the suggestion of Bashar Warda archbishop of Chaldean Archdiocese in Erbil along with an official invitation from Vatican embassy to Baghdad, a high delegation headed by KRG Minister of Religious Affairs Kamil Ali Aziz and included Khalid Jamal Alber Director General of the Directorate of Christian Affairs and Khairi Buzani Director General of Yazidi Affairs in KRG was received by Pope Benedict XVI in Vatican.
