Violence against women conference begins in Erbil
The Conference for Violence against women began today, 26 November 2012 with the presence of Kurdistan Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani and representatives of the foreign offices and consulates in Kurdistan Region.

Kurdistan Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani in his speech on the occasion stressed the importance of the campaign in increasing the social awareness in order to stop the violence against women.



He emphasized the Kurdistan regional government worked to combat violence against women, formed the directorate of combating violence against women in the ministry of foreign affairs, and took many procedures and resolutions in this regard.



He added that toady 22 countries and Kurdistan region have law on Violence against women and he wants to care Syrian refugee women, who large numbers of them have settled in the Kurdish region.
