A security source told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that "two bombs, targeting the convoy of the deputy governor, while he was heading to his office, coming from his house in the district of Riyadh."

He added: "The incident also led to the injury of one of his bodyguards."

Meanwhile the source said that "Ahmed Zeidan, the head of the Riyadh local council, 35 km west of Kirkuk, was wounded when a car bomb went off when his convoy heading to his office."
