Erbil- The presidency of Kurdistan Region denies reports that the last week visit of the region’s president, Massoud Barzani, to Moscow has been an arms purchase trip.

The office said on its official webpage that the visit was on official request of Kremlin to boost economic and political ties between the two sides and no arms purchase has been in the agenda of the visit.

The office said the recent arms purchase reports are in reaction to a Barzani reply to a question that asked will Russia sell arms to Kurdistan Region and Barzani in return said the region would by arms if Moscow would sell arms to the region.
