Azhar asks for Kurdish lessons
A delegation from Al-Azhar scholars visited the capital of Kurdistan, Erbil and submitted several suggestions aimed at the promotion of Kurdish culture among Egyptians.

Abdalmqsod Pasha, a member of the Supreme Council in Egypt suggested during a seminar held in Erbil on Thursday and attended by "Shafaq News" to organize no-fee courses to teach Kurdish language in al-Azhar in order to promote Kurdish culture, explaining that many of Asia-Southeastern and European countries launched such courses.

“If you want for the Kurdish issue to be known globally, you must let others learn the Kurdish language," Pasha said.

From his part, Mullah Abdullah, head of the Union of Kurdistan Islamic scholars said that the visit came to enable religious figures acquire knowledge about the situations of the region in terms of security, stability and religious coexistence.

Azhar delegation during its current visit will set events including visiting significant sites like Halabja city as well as religious and archaeological locations in the region

The delegation included Dr. Osama Yassin, assistant chief of Al-Azhar University for graduates Affairs and Abdalmqsod Pasha, member of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Egypt.

Kurdistan Regional Government expressed its pleasure with the visit of the delegation and praised the role of Al-Azhar University as a prominent scientific and religious monument in the development of relations between the people of Kurdistan and Egypt and spread of moderation and coexistence culture among peoples
