Kurds not to Eat Meat on Anfal Anniversary
Shafaq News/A Kurish party calls on its members to refrain from eating meat and slaughtering animals in the occasion of the anniversary of a carried by Saddam Husssein’s genocide against Kurds.

Mohammed Haj Mahmoud, Secretary-General of Kurdistan Socialist Party ordered his supporters and followers to refrain from eating meat and slaughtering animals on the anniversary of Anfal genocide committed by Saddam’s regime.

“The operations of Anfal and the related other genocide against the people of Kurdistan had not targeted the human being only, but Kurdistan’s nature and animals as well,” Mahmoud’s statement received by “Shafaq News” reads.

“It is necessary for us refrain from eating meat and slaughtering animals and poultry on this occasion,” the statement went on, “and to mark this memorial day as a one of non-eating whatever kind of meat”.

The Iraqi former regime of Saddam Hussein launched a fierce military campaign known as “Anfal” targeted Kurdish villages and areas resulted in more than 180,000 victims according to Kurdish sources.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Anfal genocide.
