During BDP's delegate last visitation to Emrali, Ocalan handed a message for President Talabani. As the BDP delegate visited Qandil Mountain to hand in Ocelan's letter to PKK leaders, they also handed a letter written by Ocalan to President Talabani.

In the letter, Ocalan wishes President Talabani health condition and his return to his position to serve his nation.
Ocalan praises the political thinking of President Talabani in particular about the Kurdish cause.

In a bid to resolve the country's decades-old Kurdish issue, the Turkish government launched negotiations with Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Ocalan, who is in prison on Emrali Island in the Sea of Marmara.

Recently, Ocalan, who despite his 14 years in prison still wields enormous leverage over PKK as well as millions of Kurds in Turkey, called on PKK to lay down their arms and withdraw Turkey. Holding a press conference in the Qandil Mountains -- a PKK stronghold in south of Kurdistan - on April 25, PKK military chief Karayılan and several of his deputies officially declared that their members would withdraw from Turkey.

Ocalan has been exchanging letter with Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in Qandil to accelerate the peace process. President Talabani has also played his charismatic role in that regard. He therefore is praised by Ocalan and Turkish government.
