New US Visa Office for Erbil
The U.S. Consulate General Erbil has announced the provision of additional consular services beginning June 25, 2013.

Iraqi residents can now apply for a range of nonimmigrant visas for travel to the United States, including tourist visas, business visitor visas, student visas, exchange student, and temporary worker visas at the Consulate General. Diplomatic, official, and immigrant visas will continue to be processed exclusively at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

Visa interviews are by appointment only and must be scheduled using the online appointment system accessible through the Consulate General’s website. Interviews will be conducted Sunday to Wednesday mornings at the Consulate’s Consular Section. Due to space limitations, the Consular Section will not accept walk-in requests for visa information or appointments.

Information on the application process for nonimmigrant visas to the United States, including how to schedule appointments, visa categories, and what to expect during the visa interview can be found at the Consulate General’s website at http://erbil.usconsulate.gov/niv.html. Please note: All visa applications must be completed online though the link provided on the Consulate General’s website. Visa applicants must bring a printed copy of their application to the Consulate on the day of their personal interview.

The Consulate General will also offer a full range of services for U.S. citizens, including passport applications and renewals, reports of birth abroad, and notarial services. U.S. citizen services will be offered by appointment Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday afternoons. The Consulate will continue to offer after-hours emergency U.S. citizen services.
