South Korea recognizes Kurdish genocide
Korean Ambassador in Kurdistan announced today his country’s formal recognition of Kurdish genocide and asked International community to do whatever necessary to avoid this kind of tragedy in Kurdistan.

The formal recognition by the Korean parliament comes after years-long campaign to raise awareness of the genocide by Kurdish activities around the world.

Earlier, British parliament unanimously recognized the Kurdish genocide in Iraq while the government and opposition pledged to work together do more on acknowledging the genocide even though the government does not formally recognize it.

The Halabja Genocide killed over 5,000 women, children, and elders; injured more than 10,000; thousands still missing; thousands more died later of complications, diseases, and birth defects in the years later.
