US Vice President Biden welcomes President Barzani’s visit to Baghdad
The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani and the US Vice President Joe Biden discussed in a phone talk the political situation in Iraq, while Biden welcomed President Barzani’s visit to Baghdad and expressed his country’s support to maintain peace between the two sides, KRG official website reported.

“The US Vice President Joe Biden welcomed President Barzani’s recent meeting with Maliki in Baghdad during a phone talk with president of Kurdistan, Masoud Barzani” Omid Sabah, the official spokesperson of Kurdistan Region said in a statement published on July 11, 2013 in KRG’s official website.

During the conversation, Biden insisted on Americans support for peace talk between Erbil and Baghdad to enhance mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence.

Kurdistan President Barzani and his delegation visited Baghdad on July 7, 2013 to hold meetings with Prime Minister Maliki and numbers of other officials. They discussed Erbil-Baghdad disputes and recent events in the region.
