President Barzani attends France's Independence Day in Erbil
Kurdistan Region’s President, Massoud Barzani participated on Sunday evening in France's Independence Day in a ceremony organized by the General French Consulate in Erbil, which took place in Rotana Hotel’s garden.


The ceremony which was attended by “Shafaq News”, began by playing the French then the Iraqi and Kurdish national anthem as after the French Consul General in Kurdistan delivered , Alan Kyprat a speech on this occasion in which he confirmed that “the French ambassador in Iraq wished to attend this ceremony,” adding that “our embassy in Baghdad started its ceremonies with us in the same time”.

“The most important thing that characterize the region is the security and stability which made it enjoys property, adding that” Iraq’s situation is deteriorating day after day and led to an increase in violence in the country and this decline is for many reasons, “ and expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery for President, Talabani because he has always been a balance factor in the country among the political forces”.

He pointed to the recent visit of the President of Kurdistan region by saying that “Barzani's recent visit to Baghdad is a good step to restore confidence among the Iraqi parties and was the source of the attention to the French government”.

Then foreign relations official in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) , Falah Mustafa delivered a speech on behalf of the government in which he confirmed the importance of developing relations between France and KRG.

Mustafa said that “KRG is looking to establish better relations with all countries of the world,” adding that “France is of the important countries in Europe that have a historical relationship with the Kurdish people."

He referred to “the role exercised by France during the Kurdish uprising in the establishment of an air ban on the Kurdish region, which provided aid to the Kurdish people in all fields."

It is worth mentioning that the French Revolution broke out in 1789, by attacking Bastille prison on 14 of July and the Declaration of Human Rights and Citizenship in August, in which monarchy that had ruled France for several centuries collapsed , during this revolution what is known as the principles of the Enlightenment was raised like equality of rights , citizenship, freedom , cancel ideas prevailing about traditions , hierarchy of the aristocracy level as well as royal and religious authorities.
