Karayilan: Kurdish national conference to be held soon
Murat Karayilan, the former acting leader and current member of Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) announced that Kurdish political forces are moving towards a national conference to be held soon, Firat News reported.

“Kurdish national conference will be soon held as there is no real barrier for gathering Kurdish political forces” the former leader of PKK, Murat Karayilan said.

A National Kurdish Conference will gather all Kurdish groups to discuss a common strategy in light of momentous developments in Turkey and elsewhere.

For long, President Barzani has been arguing for the need for such a conference. With regional developments impacting the Kurdish issue in Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran, the four countries where the Kurds are spread, officials say there is growing consensus for a meeting to coordinate strategy.

Barzani also has frequently stressed on the importance of building a foundation for coordinated policies on regional Kurdish issues.
