President Barzani Meets Preparation Committee of ‘Kurdish National Congress’
President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani held a meeting with preparation committee of Kurdish National Congress, to closely monitoring their activity and make sure they are in a right truck, KRG’s official website reported.

A committee was nominated in the first meeting held among all Kurdish political parties that represent their people in Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria to arrange the Kurdish National Congress in Erbil.

“Yesterday President Barzani meets with the Preparation committee to closely monitoring their activities so far”, KRG website reported.

The congress’s main message would be to live in harmony with the nations of the region.

“Our main aim is to deliver the peaceful cohabitation message, which comes as a joint demand and strategic togetherness from all the political factions of Kurdistan’s four parts, to the nations of the region,” said Barzani earlier in the first meeting. “At this conference, we will tell the Turkish, Arab and Persian nations that the Kurdish nation wants to live together in peace and equality.”

Previous Kurdish National Congresses have been held in Ankara, Diyarbakır and Brussels, with the latest one planned to take place in Erbil. A preliminary preparation meeting for a Kurdish National Congress was suggested by the PKK’s imprisoned leader Abdullah Öcalan and organized by Barzani, who also recently called for a high level of participation, Doğan news agency reported.
