Iraqi MP: Parliament Should Question Maliki over Security Issues
A member of Iraqi parliament from Kurdistan list believes that in order to restore peace and stability parliament has to interpellate Maliki rather than military commanders as they are only implementing policies given by Maliki, media reported.

Mahmud Osman, a member of the Iraqi Parliament and former member of the Iraq Interim Governing Council said that Iraqi Parliament should invite the General Commander for Armed Forces, Nuri al-Maliki and two other top officials in security-related matters to give explanation on their failure to restore peace.

“The absence of Maliki and other top officials in parliament and not to explain their failure in overcoming security crisis in Iraq shows their lack of desire to resolve security problem in Iraq” Osman said. “Military commanders are just implementing the rules and policies given by top officials and should not be questioned” he added.
