Announced in Washington that Iraq’s Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari will visit the US capital in the next few days and that he would meet US Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday.

Said Mary Harvey, spokeswoman at a press conference last night that “the Ministers will preside over the meeting of the Coordination Committee of joint political and diplomatic between the two countries under the strategic framework agreement between Iraq and the United States.”

Harvey added that Zebari will also meet a number of senior State Department officials who will participate in the meeting itself.

This renewed u.s. State spokeswoman condemned the United States for attacks that Iraq has witnessed recently, stressing “the negative impact of conflict in Syria to feed tensions and attacks in Iraq.”
