Kurdistan Region/ Kurdistan Democratic Party launched its election campaign in the presence of president Barzani, Nechirvan Barzani, KDP politburo members, and thousands of the party’s supporters yesterday in Francois Hariri Stadium in Erbil.

The president gave a speech before large crowds of people hanging KDP’s logos and flags.
In a speech, the president expressed his delight for the coming election saying “thank God that our country has made giant strides as a result of struggle and strife of people of Kurdistan, our martyrs, and the iron will of our brave Peshmargas.”

The president pointed out that “the great achievements are part of the objectives that Kurdistan Democratic Party has been founded for and it has been working and sacrificed for them for decades, and it will do its best to devote itself for their protection and progression of these objectives in the future.”

He also spoke of the importance of preserving order and supporting democracy by KDP members, saying that they had to consider the principles of democracy and law.

He further asked the High Electoral Independent Commission to do their best for a transparent and free election, and providing a chance for all people to participate in it.

The KDP deputy leader Nechirvan Barzani in his speech announced that some have been trying for several years to distort the reality of Kurdistan and downgrade the value of the big achievements. “We will not pay attention to the hostile criticisms and as KDP we will continue to serve our people."
