Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Mr. Haidar al-Abadi, the leader of the Victory Alliance, in Erbil on Wednesday.

Discussions focused on security in Iraq and the latest political and economic developments in the country. The importance of the ongoing negotiations between Erbil and Baghdad was underlined and cooperation among all sides in the country to surpass the pending crises and disputes was stressed.

Discussions also covered the political process in Iraq, upcoming elections, threats posed by terror groups and the continued fight against ISIS.
