Kurdistan Region presidency condemns Kabul bombings

The presidency of the Kurdistan Region condemns the attack on Kabul airport and expresses its condolences to the families of the victims.

"We condemn Thursday’s terror attacks in Kabul that killed dozens of Afghan citizens and U.S. soldiers. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families and loved ones," the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) presidency said in a tweet.

An explosion occurred at the main gate of Kabul airport on Thursday. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a U.S. military base, according to Pentagon spokesman John Kerry.
