On Thursday, president Masoud Barzani congratulated the Yazidis on the occasion of the fasting feast.

"On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, I extend my warmest congratulations and blessings to the Yazidi brothers and sisters in Kurdistan and the world," president Barzani said in a congratulatory message.

"I hope this holiday will bring happiness, peace and security to our Yazidi brothers and sisters and end their suffering," he added.

The Kurdish leader concluded his congratulations by saying: "Kurdistan is a land of peace and different religions, and we will continue to preserve the culture of brotherhood and coexistence between sects and religions."
