President Nechirvan Barzani met with the leader of the Hikma Movement, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, in Baghdad on Sunday.

The two sides stressed the need for unity, cooperation and joint understanding among political parties and communities in the country to counter the challenges of the current sensitive period and to support the new Iraqi federal government to successfully implement its agenda.

Both sides agreed that the current period and the existing situation in the country require the authorities and the relevant parties in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region to take joint responsibility and cooperate to resolve the issues of the country, including the pending issues between Erbil and Baghdad.
