Continuing his meetings in Munich, Germany, President Nechirvan Barzani met with the United States Senator, Mr. Lindsey Graham, and his accompanying delegation, which consisted of a number of senators from both the Republican and the Democratic parties.

Discussions focused on several issues including the bilateral relations of the US with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, with the US delegation reiterating the continued support of the Congress to the Kurdistan Region.

Discussions also covered the political and economic developments in Iraq, the internal situation of the Kurdistan Region, and the issue of peace and stability in the wider region. Both sides agreed on the importance of Iraq’s position and its role in maintaining regional stability and in confronting the threats of ISIS.

The latest developments in Syria and the wider region were highlighted.
