President Masoud Barzani defends Kurdistan Region as a product of blood and tears
A statement was issued from the office of President Masoud Barzani in response to the description of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq as "House of Cards," emphasizing that the Kurdistan Region is the result of the blood and tears of its people and will be protected with that blood and tears.
The statement, issued on Sunday, said, "Regarding the baseless explanations that describe the Kurdistan Region as "House of Cards," we confirm to everyone that the Kurdistan Region of Iraq is not House of Cards, and that it is the product of the blood of thousands of martyrs and the tears of thousands of mothers of martyrs. The Kurdistan Region was founded with the blood and tears of our people, and it will be protected with that blood and tears."
A report by the American magazine "Foreign Policy" described the Kurdistan Region as "House of Cards," adding that it "once seemed a bright spot in the disorder unleashed by U.S. regime change. Today, things look bleak."
The Kurdistan Region of Iraq is an autonomous region with stability and security compared to other parts of Iraq, but it faces multiple security and economic challenges, especially after the crisis resulting from the collapse of oil prices in recent years.
