Kurdistan Repaints Road Markings for Safety and Jobs

According to a news report from the Department of Media and Information of Kurdistan Regional Government, the Ministry of Interior in the Kurdistan Region is undertaking a major project to repaint longitudinal road markings.

The work will continue until October 2023, with local professionals and laborers executing the project under the ministry's supervision, creating employment opportunities for people in the region.

Dilan Abdullah, Head of the Traffic Engineering Directorate in Erbil, stated that this is the first time such a project has been executed by local workers, resulting in better quality work at a smaller budget.

The project covers urban roads as well as roads between towns and cities. However, Abdullah cautioned that adverse weather conditions and the low quality of car tires in the region may reduce the stability of the paint used in the project.

The news report highlights the Ninth Cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government's commitment to providing better services to citizens and creating new job opportunities in the region.
