Renowned Kurdish Artist and Art Theorist Gara Rasul Passes Away at 68

At the age of 68, Gara Rasul, a celebrated Kurdish artist, art critic, writer, and art theorist, has passed away due to a severe illness in Germany, leaving behind a legacy of contributions to the field of art and knowledge on Kurdish history.

Gara Rasul, a well-known Kurdish artist, art theorist, writer, and art critic, has died at the age of 68 in Germany due to a severe illness. The news of his passing was confirmed by a close friend and writer, Abdullah Ahmad Karim.

Rasul held a master's degree in art history from the University of Cologne and was known for his expertise in Kurdish history, as well as his contributions to the field of art. Karim described him as an educated artist, humanitarian, and expert in Kurdish history, adding that he was a mixture of Jalaluddin Rumi and Wassily Kandinsky.

After returning to Sulaimani with a group of German experts in 2004, Rasul presented his articles to artists and students in the city, demonstrating his commitment to sharing his knowledge and expertise with others.

Rasul's passing is a great loss to the Kurdish art community, as well as to those who appreciated his contributions to art theory and criticism. He will be remembered for his dedication to his craft and his commitment to sharing his knowledge with others.
