President Nechirvan Barzani had two significant meetings in Erbil on Thursday, discussing important matters related to international relations and regional cooperation.

In the first meeting, President Barzani received the outgoing European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Ville Varjola. During the meeting, President Barzani expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Varjola for his efforts in promoting EU relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The President also extended his best wishes for the Ambassador's future assignments. In response, Mr. Varjola thanked President Barzani and the relevant parties of the Kurdistan Region for their support during his mission.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the current situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, highlighting the ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between the EU and both regions.

Later that day, President Barzani welcomed First Deputy Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament, Mr. Ahmad Khalaila, and his accompanying delegation. The delegation was on a visit to Baghdad and Erbil to discuss Jordan's relations with Iraq, particularly its strong bonds with the Kurdistan Region, and to foster cooperation between the two sides.
President Barzani appreciated the visit as a testament to Jordan's unwavering support for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He emphasized the significance of the bilateral relations between Jordan and Iraq and reiterated his support for further strengthening ties. Additionally, the President expressed gratitude for the support provided by His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Kingdom of Jordan to the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The Jordanian delegation praised the Kurdistan Region for its role in defeating ISIS and admired the progress achieved in the region. They conveyed their country's continued support for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and expressed enthusiasm for potential collaborations in areas such as health, tourism, culture, education, and trade.

The meeting was also attended by the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, and it served as an opportunity to discuss broader regional issues and matters of mutual interest.

These meetings showcased the Kurdistan Region's commitment to fostering strong international relationships and promoting cooperation with other nations in various sectors, contributing to regional stability and prosperity.
