Reflecting on his recent visit to the esteemed Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, PM Barzani underscored the crucial contribution of the United Kingdom to ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the Kurdish Peshmerga. He stated, "The UK has been a strong partner of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. During my visit to the world-renowned Royal Military Academy Sandhurst this week, I was reminded again of the important work the UK does for Peshmerga reforms."

As an active member of the US-led Coalition to Defeat the Islamic State (IS), the United Kingdom has played a pivotal role in supporting both the Kurdistan Region's Peshmerga and Iraqi forces in their joint fight against terrorism. The UK is also a key participant in the Peshmerga reform program, collaborating closely with Germany, the United States, and the Netherlands.
