Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Meets with Iraqi Ministerial Economic Council in Erbil

Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Masrour Barzani, held a meeting today with members of the Iraqi Ministerial Economic Council, headed by Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, to discuss critical issues between the two governments.

The delegation, which arrived in Erbil on Saturday, included high-level officials such as Minister of Planning Mohammed Ali Tamim, Minister of Finance Taif Sami, and Governor of the Central Bank Ali Al-Alaq, along with key representatives from various ministries and economic bodies.

The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to address long-standing issues between the KRG and the federal government in Baghdad. Among the delegation were:

Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Naimi
Chairman of the Securities Commission, Faisal Al-Wisam

Deputy Minister of Industry and Mining, Ahmed Abdul-Jabbar
Technical Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Mithaq Abdul-Hussein
Secretary of the Council of Ministers for Economic Affairs, Abbas Nasrallah
In anticipation of this meeting, the KRG's Council of Ministers, during its regular session on Wednesday, reviewed preparations for the special meeting of the Federal Ministerial Economic Council. The session, chaired by Prime Minister Barzani, focused on key unresolved issues between the two administrations.

The KRG warmly welcomed the Iraqi delegation, with Prime Minister Barzani calling the meeting "an important opportunity to engage in serious discussions on the outstanding issues that have impacted both sides." The meeting is expected to address a wide range of economic and financial matters, fostering greater cooperation between the KRG and Baghdad.
