KRG Implements Over 5,000 Service Projects in Five Years

The Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) ninth cabinet, led by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, has successfully completed more than 5,000 service projects over the past five years, at a total cost exceeding 4 trillion and 663 billion dinars, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism.

In its report, the ministry revealed that 5,044 projects have been implemented throughout the Kurdistan Region, funded by the investment budget, revenues from the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism, as well as regular and special budgets. Some projects were also carried out in cooperation with foreign organizations, universities, and institutions. Most of these projects have been completed, while others remain under construction and are set to be finished soon.

The ministry classified the projects into key sectors:

  1. Municipal Sector: A total of 2,004 projects were executed in the municipal sector, with a total expenditure of 2,795,337,323,322 dinars.
  2. Water and Sewage Sector: 2,755 projects were completed in the water and sewage sector, costing 1,785,248,176,551 dinars.
  3. Archaeological Sector: 167 projects were undertaken in the archaeological sector, with a total investment of 34,148,075,900 dinars.
  4. Tourism Sector: 118 projects were executed in the tourism sector, at a cost of 48,742,327,115 dinars.

These projects are part of the ninth cabinet’s ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure and public services, despite economic and political challenges. The ministry emphasized that the remaining projects are expected to be completed in the near future, continuing the cabinet’s drive for development across the region.
