In Kurdistan Region , the Iraqi Vice President Tariq al- Hashimi , during a speech on Monday , denied Iraqi government accusations that he ran killing squads and said that accusations are politically motivated.

The Iraqi government issued an arrest warrant in December against al- Hashimi on accusations that he paid his bodyguards to kill government officials and employees in Iraqi ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs.
