KRG: 150,000 IDs have been made for officials
150,000 electronic IDs have been made for staff in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) departments since 2011, according to the KRG’s IT branch.

After one year of opening three offices for collecting information, the KRG’s IT department made the IDs for staff in government institutions and directorates.

The type of ID is modern and its purpose is to provide electronic information for users, whenever needed.

The main IT office is in the Council of Ministers, with three additional offices in Erbil, Duhok and Sulaimaniyah.

The cost of the ID system was $4.7m (5.5bn IDQ).
