Russia-South Korea oil tie up worth almost $1bn
- Russia’s Lukoil has signed a contract worth $998m (1.1tr IQD) with South Korea’s Samsung to develop Iraq’s West Qurna 2 oil field.
raq's Minister of Oil Abdul Karim Luaibi said the contract will involve work on the second phase of developing the production of the West Qurna 2 field, as well as work on 67 oil wells in the field.

Luaibi explained that the contract between the two companies will last for 29 months and the process of the development of the wells will be overseen by Iraq's Oil Ministry.
