Deatils of Arabi's visit before Arab League summit revealed
Details of the Arab League Secretary-General's visit to Baghdad, ahead of the summit, have been revealed today.
Nabil al-Arabi and his deputy, Ahmed Ben al-Helli, will be accompanied by 10 ambassadors to discuss and get informed about the arrangements for the Arab summit on March 29.

The Iraqi authorities have taken strict security measures and cut off several roads on the outskirts of the capital Baghdad to secure the summit, which will be held with the participation of Arab presidents and kings.

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Ben Helli told AKnews that the 10 ambassadors visiting include the Assistant Secretaries and the Representative of Iraq to the Arab League, Qais al-Azzawi.

The delegation will also discuss with the Iraqi government the arrangements for meetings of Arab ministers of foreign affairs, finance or economy.

The Summit will be preceded with the meeting of Arab economy ministers by two days and the meeting of Arab foreign ministers by one day.

"Arabi will meet the Iraqi President Jalal al-Talabani, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Foreign Minister Hoshyar al-Zebari to discuss the summit," added Helli.

Arab leaders are expected to discuss during the summit the internal situation in Syria, the unrest caused by the uprising's call for regime change as well as the restructuring of the Arab League and issues surrounding the Arab Spring.
