PKK official denies supporting Syrian regime
Allegations that the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) is supporting the Syrian regime should be considered part of the Turkish agenda and propaganda, said a party senior official.

Ahmet al-Deniz, the PR Chief of the Union of Communities in Kurdistan, a group under the umbrella of the PKK, said the PKK is supporting the struggle of the Kurdish people of Syria against President Bashar Assad's regime.

"In this country [Syria] there is a Kurdish force which has a special circle for demanding the ethnic rights of the nation," Deniz said

"We are siding with their efforts to oust Assad's regime."

He accused Turkey of "disseminating propaganda that the PKK is against the fall of Assad's regime. It wants to defame Kurds in the international community."

The PKK official wondered "what the Syrian Baath regime has done for Kurds so that PKK supports it?"
