Palestinian Authority president to ask Arab countries for financial aid at Baghdad summit
Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas will ask Arab countries for urgent financial aid for the Palestinians during tomorrow's Arab summit in Baghdad, reports The Jerusalem Post.

PA Labor Minister Ahmed Majdalani said the deficit in the PA budget was estimated at almost $2bn, according to the The Jerusalem Post's report.

Palestinian officials in the city of Ramallah complained that Arab countries have failed to fulfill previous promises to provide financial aid to the Palestinians.

The officials said the PA is facing a severe financial crisis because of the failure of Arab countries and some Western donors to meet their obligations toward the Palestinians.
