%25 of Iraqi Kurdish women believe that men has right to beat his wife, study shows
Kurdistan Region Government’s Ministry of Planning has disclosed in a press conference a five-year UN’s servay in Iraq about women and children’s situation.

On 2 July,2012; in a press conference Ali Sindi, the Minister of Planning for Kurdish region in Iraq publicalized the result of a five-year survey about children and women’s situation in Iraq as a whole by United Nations.
"The survey has conducted with the cooperation of a number of UN organizations. It is about the women situation," Minister explained.
The survey has underlined that the number of married girls who are under 15 years old has reached %5 in Kurdistan region, while it has been reached to %6 in the other parts of Iraq.
Underage married has reached %23 in Kurdistan region and %24 in other parts of Iraq.
The survey has underlined that Polygamy percentage is %6 all over Iraq.
In terms of beating wife by husband, the survey has pointed out that %25 of Kurdish women believe that men has right to beat his wife, while the percentage has skyrocketed in other parts of Iraq to %56.
%15 of children are dwarf, while in other parts of Iraq is %24.
Literacy and reading level of young people in Kurdistan region has reached to %78, but 68 in mid and south of Iraq.
Literacy level of women between 15-49 age is %59; but in other parts of Iraq is %67.
The minister has claimed that the children worker who are under 14 year-old is %2 in Kurdistan, but %7 other parts of Iraq.
This sort of survey is undertaking in 59 countries around the world.
