Today, on the anniversary of the establishment of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s first cabinet, the Kurdistan Regional Government commemorates the historical event in a statement (below):

“The first KRG cabinet was democratically elected in 1992 on the basis of protecting the rights of the Kurdish people, enforcing the law, and bringing peace and prosperity to Kurdistan. This historical day calls for the KRG to direct its condolences, appreciation and respect towards the Blessed Martyrs who sacrificed their lives to bring about the freedom Kurdistan experiences today. The efforts of the cabinets established since are highly commended. Furthermore the Kurdistan Regional Government congratulates all the citizens of Kurdistan and ensures its commitment towards the advancement and improvement of their lives.”

On this occasion, the Kurdistan Regional Government also reassured it will act in accordance with the Constitution of Iraq and gain from the rights it privileges the people of Iraq.
