The U.S. consulate in Erbil, on Thursday evening , July 5 , at Rotana Hotel, held a special ceremony to commemorate the 236 anniversary of the independence of the United States of America .
Mr. Massoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region , a number of ministers in Kurdistan Regional Government and the representatives of foreign embassies and consulates in Kurdistan Region and other guests attended the ceremony.

The U.S. consul in Kurdistan Region, in his speech , pointed to the close ties between the people of Kurdistan and the American people.

President Barzani in a speech during the ceremony congratulated on behalf of the people of Kurdistan the U.S government, citizens of the United States of America, and the American community in Iraq and Kurdistan Region.
