Kurdistan Regional Government allocates land to region’s US Consulate
The head of foreign relations for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Falah Mustafa has signed a land allocation contract with the General Consul of the US to the region Alex Laskaris for construction of a US Consulate in Erbil.
Laskaris, on his last day as General Consul to the region, signed the allocation contracts and thanked political leaders and the KRG for the support provided to boost relations between both sides.

Laskaris added that the allocation of land for the purpose of building a US Consulate in the region is a new move to enhance political relations between the US and the Kurdistan Region.

The General Consulate thanked Kurdistan’s President Massoud Barzani and Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani for their part in improving relations between the US and Kurdistan.

Mustafa acknowledged the role of Laskaris as first General Consulate to the region and in improving the US-Kurdistan tie.
