Kurdistan Region controls imported animal from Iran, says Minister
The Kurdistan Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources has banned animal imports from Iran, because imported animals infected with the disease.

Ramazan Karim, the director of Animal Resources said that all animals from Iran are smuggled by illegally to the country.


Since February, Kurdistan Region Government banded Iranian animals because Foot and Mouth disease is spread from animal to person and Foot-and-Mouth disease or Hoof-and-Mouth disease (Aphtae epizooticae) is an infectious and sometimes fatal viral disease that affects cloven-hoofed animals.


He added: The region has also banned imports of animals from the US, Germany and Spain due to diseases but allows animals to come from Turkey, Brazil, Armenia and Georgia.
