Syrian Crises: Kurds Celebrate Freedom in Street Party
Tens of thousands of Kurdish people in Syria have celebrated their freedom on Sunday as the region is about to release from the long-time misery they were facing under Bashar Assad's tyranny, demanding an end to Assad's rule in the entire country, Rudaw reported today.



The celeberation were organized by Kurdish political parties __ the Kurdish National Council (KNC) and the Council of Western Kurdistan __ united under the Erbil agreement of June 11.

The Kurdish political factions engaged in an agreement in Erbil capital of Iraqi Kurdistan motivated and monitored by President Masoud Barzani on June 11.

The Erbil agreement was designed to unite Kurds in Syria in such a crucial and historic moment.

Demonstrators shouted slogans as: “SKC [Supreme Kurdish Council] is our representative, long live Kurdish unity,”

The peaceful demonestration, which had a mark of celeberation is first of it's kind in the Kurdistan region of Syria as such a mass were enjoying their freedom for the first in the history.

The Kurds are not recognised by Assad's regime as a national or ethnic minority in Syria and they are not permitted to practice their culture and traditions freely.
