-University Sains Malaysia(USM) and University of Zakho, Kurdistan Iraq (UoZ) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to foster cooperation in education and research.

In a ceremony at USM's Nadi Centre, UoZ scientific affairs and postgraduate vice-president Prof Dr Omar Al-Habib and USM vice-chancellor Datuk Omar Osman exchanged documents to promote scientific and cultural relationship between the two varsities.
