The Ministry of Health confirmed that no cases of black fungus had been recorded, especially among those coming from India, while vaccination campaigns expanded to include all health centers on the Rusafa side to double the number of vaccinators, especially after receiving large quantities of Pfizer vaccine.

The Director of the Public Health Department, Abdul-Amir Al-Halfi, said: “The black fungus is a very rare disease that affects the immunocompromised and has nothing to do with the Corona virus,” noting that it “comes due to pollution in rural areas and soil.”

He added that "the emergence of cases in India came as a result of a lack of hygiene," noting that "Iraq has not recorded any case so far through arrivals from India."
